Smoothing in blender looks bad
Web7 Jan 2024 · When I shade smooth parts of my model look pretty good and others look quite bad (I don't mean the shape I mean the texture). It can be seen in my model below where the part highlighted looks good and the one highlighted in red doesn't, how could I make the red part look and have the same texture as the green part.

WebUnder object data properties —> normals —> there should be a checkbox with an angle input. Check the box. And the default angle works fine. What it does is that if the angle value is set to 30 degrees, any two adjacent faces, where their normals make an angle greater than 30 will be smooth. It looks strange because adjacent faces are very large (big gradient) and are at extreme angles (lots of contrast). Because it blends with the adjacent faces, you can also sharpen up the result by adding more edge loops and thus decreasing the size of the extreme gradients. eggs and bodybuildingWeb26 Nov 2024 · Smooth/flat shading is applied per face, not per object. So just change it for individual faces of your mesh. Here is an example of a chain. It's one object, consisting of multiple meshes, like in your case. Select only one mesh.
